PACK WITH ME | How to Pack for a Week Long Camping Trip!

As you're reading this, I'm currently on a family camping trip. I finally learned how to schedule posts and I've been working hard the past few days to complete and schedule three posts for while I'm gone. You already read my "no makeup" beauty routine that I do during camping, and now I'm sharing what I pack for my camping trips!

Camping is kind of a strange type of vacation to go on. You want to look good and be comfortable, but you don't want to pack any of your favorite clothing items because they could easily get ruined! It's hot during the day and freezing during the night so you have to pack clothing for two different types of weather! I am no stranger to camping, I've gone at least twice every summer since I was twelve, and in the past year alone I've been camping four times! Over the years, I have perfected the art of packing for a camping trip, and now I'm sharing my secrets with you.

To start, you need to know where you're going camping and how long you're camping for. This is crucial because weather and duration of the trip will greatly impact what you pack. For this post, I am packing for a five day trip to Southern Utah.

Tops

When it comes to shirts, you want to pack one for every day of your trip, plus two or three. The reason for this is because while camping, it is so easy to get your clothing dirty or wet and have to change. Plus, chances are there won't be showers so you won't want to wear the same shirt twice! I packed a combination of crew neck tees and tank tops. The crew necks are shirts I've gotten for free from my college that I've cut into crop tops to make them more flattering. Make sure to pack clothing that you feel comfortable in and that won't matter if they stain. Also try to pack some shirts that are the wicking/athletic material.

Bottoms

Pants can get a little more versatile. Make sure you pack a few bottoms made of denim. I went with overalls, shorts, and jeans. Denim is pretty heavy duty and you can get away with wearing it multiple days. In addition to denim, I packed two pairs of athletic capris. Make sure you bring bottoms that are the spandex/polyester blend because they will be comfortable and durable. I also packed two pairs of regular leggings for when it gets chilly at night.

Everything Else

This section is kind of a mix of other stuff you will need to pack. Pack a few sports bras, because honestly who wants to wear a real bra while camping?! Maybe pack a regular bra or a bralette in case you venture into the real world. Also make sure to pack your undies and stuff! Now, I am a big fan of sweat suits, so I packed two. I could live in my Victoria's Secret sweat suit. I also packed a few extra sweatshirts and hoodies that I love. Then make sure you pack a swimsuit, you don't want to be stuck without a swimsuit on lake day! Not pictured, but make sure to also pack pajamas, socks, tennis shoes, and a pair of sandals or flip flops.

Make sure to pack everything in a waterproof container. If I'm going somewhere that's going to be particularly rainy, I'll pack my stuff in one of those plastic storage tubs. Also make sure to roll your clothes so they don't get wrinkly. Just a few tips to make your packing easier!

And here's a picture of my cat, because she wanted to be apart of this little photoshoot!

Hope this post was helpful for some of you. I know last year when I was looking for some camping packing tips I couldn't find a lot! That's why I wanted to share my tried and tested packing methods on here.

I'll be back from my camping trip on the 18th, I have a scheduled post on the 20th, and hopefully I'll have a post on my trip up by the 23rd! I'm going to try to start posting every Wednesday and Saturday at 4pm. So stay tuned for that!

Have you been camping before? What are your go-to things to pack for a camping trip? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you for reading!
