FIVE Ways To Style Plaid This Fall + Magic Hour At The Pumpkin Patch!
In my opinion, going to a pumpkin patch is a necessary part of Fall. Whether you go with your family, on a date, or with friends, it is always fun to pick your pumpkin at an actual patch. Plus, around Halloween time, a lot of pumpkin patches have extra activities in addition to the pumpkins. In the past, I've been to pumpkin patches that had small carnival rides and snacks. This year, the one I went to was more humble and natural, having just a few farm animals, a hay ride, and a corn maze. It was so cute and the best part... free!
My friends and I just happened to all wear plaid... okay, okay, I might have forced them to so that I could caption our group picture "plaid shirt days" from one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs. I couldn't resist! Plus, plaid is necessary when you're going to a pumpkin patch. I really like how each of us styled plaid in a way that reflects our personal style. Spencer is a big fan of layering, so he layered his flannel over a green zip up hoodie that really brought out his eyes, and under that he wore a simple dark shirt. Christine wore a zip up hoodie that is a mix of grey and plaid, with a maroon shirt and shoes. We always tell Christine that maroon is her spirit color. Blakely went with a simple black tank top and a contrasting maroon and white flannel tied around her waist. Of course, I went with my favorite pair of high waisted jeans with rips in the knees and I tied my flannel to show a little midriff. If you notice, I wore a pair of brown booties, and I turned out to be the only one of my friends not wearing tennis shoes. Typical. Taylor's look is a simple one you could find him wearing on any given day. Dark pants and a neutral graphic t shirt with a flannel layered on top. I love this group's style, it is so fun to see how everyone styles similar pieces in different ways.
We were at this pumpkin patch during magic hour, right before the sun set. It made these pictures turn out so dreamy. I think everyone could agree that the best part of this pumpkin patch was all the farm animals. We saw goats, baby cows, alpacas, sheep, and a beautiful horse. The animals put everyone in such a good mood, we were all giggling and running around like five year olds. That kind of childlike wonder never goes away.
I hope you enjoyed this post about my fun night at the pumpkin patch with my great friends. Every time we do these little photo shoots, I am blown away all over again by how photogenic my friends are. And, as always, by how talented my friend Christine is with a camera. I say this every time, but she truly does capture the most genuine moments of us being our true selves. I love having these pictures to look back on.
Check back for more fall themed posts in the next few weeks. I have a few ideas up my sleeve, but we'll see if they actually get done! Plus, the holidays are coming up and I want to create some cool posts for that.
Thanks for reading!
