TRAVEL DIARY | Fall Break in Southern California! Part 2!

As promised, I'm back with a Part 2 to my Southern California Travel Diary! If you haven't yet, go check out my Part 1 to this trip and also check out the video I made for this trip. I have a lot of pictures to share and I don't want to make this post too long, so I'm just going to get right into it.

Day 3 of our trip was definitely the busiest day, and it turned out to be my favorite! We spent our day in Carlsbad, CA, which is where Christine grew up. We started out the day searching for wall murals. Wall murals are my favorite thing to find when I'm traveling. I think they say a lot about the place you're visiting, and they're also the perfect photo op.

The fan favorite of the murals was definitely this rainbow tiger one. The colors were beautiful and the tigers were just so cute, we couldn't even deal. I love the picture above of Spencer standing just next to the "Best Vacation Photo Stand Here" sign, that was such a funny moment. Also, if you notice in the pictures from this day, Spencer changes his outfit several times so that he could post pictures that looked like they were taken on different days. That is a secret I was probably supposed to never tell, but I had to share it on here because it was so hilarious!

As we were looking for wall murals, we stumbled upon this cute little cafe called The Succulent Cafe. I was in my own personal heaven! I'm obsessed with succulents and there was so many of them! Unfortunately, we didn't get anything at the cafe because we were already on our way to a special place for lunch. I'm still so glad we found this gem. The pictures don't even do it justice.

After the wall mural searching, we headed over to the neighborhood Christine grew up in. It had such a typical California look, it was great. The roads were also super curvey and smooth and everyone was so excited to long board. We got some really awesome shots of everyone long boarding that just scream California. There was also a great view of the skyline at the little neighborhood park. We took this amazing picture of our backs. It is one of my favorite pictures of the group. We also had to get a shot of the friendship bracelets I made us. I love how that picture turned out.

After hanging out in Christine's neighborhood and going to eat at her favorite local Greek restaurant which was amazing, we headed over to Moonlight Beach. We planned to have a bonfire there and go night swimming. The sunset on the beach was unreal. No words can describe how brilliant it was and no picture can do it justice, but these pictures are dreamy in their own right.

These silhouette pictures are probably the best thing to ever happen to me. Just looking at them is bringing back all the strong emotions I felt that night. We hadn't planned on getting in the water, but it was so warm that after taking these pictures we all ran to change into our swimsuits and the five of us held hands as we got pummeled by waves. It was an experience I will never forget, being surrounded by so much love and life.

The rest of that night is a blur as we all hung out around the fire and talked about our favorite memories. We all started to fall asleep around midnight so we decided it was time to head back to the house we were staying at. We all slept deeply that night.

I hope you've enjoyed my stories about this California trip, I know I have enjoyed recounting them. Check back for more fall themed posts coming your way soon! Special thanks to Christine who is basically the group's personal paparazzi and captures the most genuine moments and makes us all look like models. Check out more of her amazing photography skills on her instagram.
